Furry Faces Workshop-Keller, TX

Furry Faces Workshop-Keller, TX

On Day 1 Chris will demonstrate  how to paint furry faces that are full of life, personality, and vibrant color. The demo session will be broken up into segments so that students can work on their on furry face painting in steps. Chris will show you how to use layers of transparent and opaque oils to get a clean, colorful, luminous painting. Emphasis will be placed on color mixing, loose brushwork, and composition. Painting will be done in the "Alla Prima" style, (created "all at once" or "in one sitting") using wet into wet technique which results in a fresh, spontaneous look.

Students will have the opportunity to finish a painting of their own with individual help from the instructor. They will have the option to paint from the same photo the instructor will be using for the demo, or paint from their own pet photo. Chris will share fun color combination ideas that can be used for different colored pets.

On Day 2, the group will complete an exercise that will help to loosen brushstrokes for a more impressionistic painting. Students will also have time to work on an animal painting of their own choosing; receiving guidance as needed.
